Is-sinjal għal ĠWANNI BATTISTA isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwi bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-id tolqot l-għonq mill-ġenb. Dan ifakkar fil-qtugħ ta’ ras Ġwanni Battista. Varjazzjoni tas-sinjal jibda bis-sinjal għal QADDIS li jsir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ L mgħawweġ. L-id iddur ċirku ftit ’il fuq mir-ras qisu qed ipinġi awreola ta’ qaddis.
The sign for JOHN THE BAPTIST is made with one hand that takes the shape of bent 5 with palm facing downwards. The hand hits the side of the neck. This reminds one of the beheading of John the Baptist. A variation of the sign starts with the sign for SAINT. This is made with one hand taking the shape for bent L and drawing a circle over the head, thus indicating a saint’s halo.
